Susan, originally from Red Deer, Alberta now lives on a small farm in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia with her husband, and their two children.

Susan has a degree in Education from the University of Alberta, specializing in Individual Differences, a Masters level in Academic and Vocational testing, a counselling certificate from Dalhousie University and is a Certified Life Skills Coach. Susan has been developing and delivering, professional workshops for teachers, students, social workers, and leaders for the past 13 years. Her workshops have been described as valuable, constructive, enlightening, and dynamic.

Susan developed a program for teachers and parents designed to empower children and youth with stronger social education skills. Utilizing these skills, children can deal with bullying situations in a socially acceptable and non- violent manner. Other benefits include improved communication, learning and relationship skills.

Susan presents keynote speeches and offers part of her program in conference workshops.

Susan, considered an expert on creating bully free schools and classrooms, meets with thousands of clients annually to deliver, hands on practical training and solutions. According to past participants evaluations and comments, Susan’s Anti bullying and Social Education program has proven to be effective and valuable.

Bullying is a pre-planned, pre-meditated act to cause someone or something harm. Bullying is about imbalance of power, whether perceived or real. When young children react "automatically" without thinking by striking back or name calling, this shows poor social skills this is a "teaching moment", not bullying.
